Ray Chan
Precision Stamping & Tooling Specialist at ISTAMPING (Dongguan Groho Precision Technology)
He writes the stamping and tooling guides on this site: progressive dies, DFM decisions, material selection and production quality, from the angle of the plant that actually runs them.

About Ray Chan
Ray Chan came up through the shop that grew into this plant. The family business, Guozheng Precision, was founded in 2013; the factory behind istamping.com, Dongguan Groho Precision Technology, was registered in March 2014 and runs today from a 10,000 m² facility in Chang'an Town, Dongguan. He heads the export desk: drawing review and DFM feedback, tooling and production quotes, PPAP paperwork and high-volume ramp-ups for buyers across automotive, EV, connector and electronics supply chains.
His writing stays on the progressive-die side of precision manufacturing. The plant runs 21 presses from 25 to 110 tons on copper alloys, stainless, steel and aluminum strip at up to 300 strokes per minute, holds piloted features to ±0.005 mm, and builds and maintains its own dies in an in-house tool room under an IATF 16949:2016 automotive quality system (certified 2019). The parts he writes about are the ones this plant quotes and builds: terminals, contacts, lead frames, busbars and EMI shields.
Every guide here is written from programs this factory has actually quoted, not from vendor brochures. The goal is the answer a buyer needs before an RFQ: whether the design will hold tolerance, how the die cost behaves at volume, and where the failure modes hide.
“Most stamping failures are decided before the first stroke, on the drawing and in the die design, not at the press.”
